Who is responsible
AI Sync System Inc. (BC1539132, British Columbia, Canada) runs SelfSync and is the controller of your personal data. Contact: founder@ai-sync.app.
What we collect and why
- Account details (email, name from Google if you use it, login data) — to create your account and sign you in. Basis: contract.
- Backed-up entries (dreams, wins, gratitude, intentions, settings) — to back them up and sync your devices. An account is needed to use the app. Basis: contract.
- Questions to Ask SelfSync — sent to our AI provider to write an answer; we don't store the chat. Basis: contract.
- Usage counts and plan status (monthly AI question count, Premium status, invite codes) — to apply plan limits and rewards. Basis: contract.
- Technical data (IP address, device and browser info, error logs) — for security, fraud prevention and fixing problems. Basis: legitimate interests.
- Support and contact form messages (name, email, message) — to answer you. Basis: legitimate interests.
Payment details are collected directly by Paddle, not by us.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host the app, database and AI features for us.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling Premium, managing subscriptions, payments, tax and invoices.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We never sell your data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside Canada, the UK or the EEA (for example in the United States). Where needed we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
We keep account and backed-up data while your account is active and delete or anonymise it within 90 days after you close it, except where the law requires us to keep records longer.
Your rights
Under Canadian law (PIPEDA and BC PIPA) you can access and correct your data and withdraw consent. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the rights to erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and to complain to your data protection authority. You can download or delete your data yourself under "Your data" in the app, or email us and we'll respond within 30 days. See Your data rights.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls that let each person see only their own entries, and leaked-password checks. More on our Security & Trust page.
Children
SelfSync is for people aged 13 and older. Under 18s should use it with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child under 13 gave us data, email us and we'll delete it.
Cookies and storage
SelfSync uses only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and save your entries on your device. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings, which signs you out and removes entries kept only on that device. See our Cookie Notice.
Changes
We'll update this notice when our practices change and show the new date above.
